登窯を使った焼成になります。
Firing using Noboribama kiln.
3部屋ある登窯です。
幅3ｍ、奥行きが7mほどです。
There are three chambers in this kiln.
It is 3m wide and 7m deep.
窯の内部です。大人が立てるほどの高さがあります。
Inside of the kiln. It is tall enough for an adult to stand.
よく干した赤松の割木を中心に使っていきます。
The fuel is mainly made from split wood of red pine trees that have been well dried.
170℃頃の様子です。
窯の正面下方に作った焚口より割木をくべていきます。
The temperature is around 170℃.
Split wood is fired through the opening in the lower front of the kiln.
980℃頃の様子です。割木の消費量が上がっています。
The temperature is around 980℃. The amount of firewood consumed is increasing.
焚口付近に溜まっている熾（おき、薪などの燃え残り）、炎の引いていく様子など見ながら、焚口の割木の組み方を変えていきます。
The way the firewood is assembled at the fire hole is changed according to the amount of firewood left near the fire opening and the way the flame recedes.
上の方に開けた焚口より割木を放り込んでいきます。
Firewood is thrown into the fire from the top of the fire hole.
煙突から出る煙から窯の中の炎の様子を判断します。
The flames inside the kiln are judged from the smoke coming out of the chimney.
大体1200℃ぐらいを目指してじっくりと温度を上げていきます。
The temperature is slowly raised to about 1,200 degrees Celsius.
終了すると、焚口を塞ぎます。
After finishing the firing, the fire hole is closed.
